P90X:2 ... Are you ready?

Yes, the sequel is almost here!  Did you know that P90X has been around for over 6 years?  It is still one of the most popular at home workouts and is used by celebrities, professional athletes, and regular people like us!
A lot has changed in the past 6 years though!
Athletes are accomplishing crazy things so the research that has gone into improving those athletes has gone into improving P90X!!!
Cardio recommendations have changed from keeping your heart rate steadily elevated to HIIT workouts, or High Intensity Interval Training!  This involves intervals of working REALLY hard and boosting your heart rate intermixed with either lower intensity cardio or weight lifting!  This keeps you burning calories for longer after your workout... while you are no longer doing any exercise!!!  Sounds good to me!
There is a lot more total body work with an emphasis on the core.  This is done using the stability ball and balancing on one leg!
Check out the X2 Core workout preview - Note the warning ;)
Not far from this is the X2 Total Body preview
AND of key importance are those vanity muscles in X2 Shoulders and Arms

So, what do you think?  Are you ready to take on the challenge?  If you aren't ready yet you have time!  The program is set to release in December.  If you order ASAP there is still a chance you will get it in time to begin on January 1st, 2012.  Once the pre release sales have finished there may be limited supply until March of 2012.

If you order now you will not be charged until the program ships in December, so sign up and use it as an incentive!  You will also get FREE shipping, 2 FREE extra workouts, plus a chance to win weekly prizes!!!  Train to be ready to take it to the next level!!!
Let me know what you are going to do to prepare for P90X2!
I am hitting it hard with ChaLEAN Extreme and Shakeology!

Back to school!

Today was the first day back to school for my kids! A little sad that summer is over but they are so excited about seeing old friends, making new friends and about learning! Do you remember those days when we used to be excited and ready to face new things? Chances are that doesn't happen for you very much any more?!?!?!
What used to excited you? What goals did you have that you put out of your mind because life got in your way? Do you think you could dust some of those off and give them another chance?
Start slowly, just take one...it might take you a little while to remember some of them so no hurry, but get started now, today...if you wait until tomorrow, it just might not happen!
Many of us mama's had a plan to always look the way we did when we got married...then kids came along and whammo...you thought that plan was gone. Guess what, that isn't the case! You can make that body come back with a little hard work and determination! Chances are the papa's ran into some roadblocks along their journey's too! Hey, if your kids can go off to school all on their own, if they can learn the alphabet, multiplication and complete book reports, you can watch what you eat and lift some weights!
Whether it is a hard core fitness program or walking around the block or eating right or playing sports or just shutting off the TV and reading a motivational book...do something for you. Do something that will help you feel better about yourself, help you go into each day ready to hit the ground running.
I want my kids to see that I am as excited and motivated about life as I want them to be. I am going to reach some of my goals and make some new ones. Are you going to join me?
I would love to be your coach, to help you along your journey, you just need to let me know how I can help. You can sign up on my Beachbody site for more fitness and nutrition support...join a family of people all with the same goals in mind!

Wondering how to start your fitness journey, or take it up a notch?

How did I begin my fitness transformation 3 1/2 years ago? I made a decision and I set some goals.

A good friend of mine told "we are joining the gym"! We both had two young children, we had both enjoyed fairly fit lives in the past, but we were now feeling trapped in the house with our children and we had allowed the baby weight to hold us back, and our youngest children were now old enough to be in childcare. This is not so uncommon a decision for people to make, to join the gym! We made a second plan though, we challenged each other and our friends to a weight loss competition! Largest percentage of weight lost in 3 months wins! I am a competitive kind of girl, so this was the way to get me working even harder at the gym and just as importantly, watching my calories at home! I won...I didn't manage to get any of the money I thought we had all committed to the challenge at the beginning, BUT---it was just in time for a vacation with my hubby and we went clothes shopping as I needed a new wardrobe!
When I had worked out in the past I had run on the treadmill, I had lifted a few weights, I had gone for bike rides, but this time was different!  I read magazines and listened to trainers and I learned how to really exercise!  You need to push your limits, you need to challenge yourself, you need to go outside your comfort zone if you want to see results.  Set a schedule and stick to your schedule and go go go!!!
This was 3 years ago now! When we started the challenge I weighed around 195. I planned to get to 180, the weight I had been through college and my twenties. As we were working at it though I thought, hey, why not shoot for 175. Well I busted through that 175 and slid to a halt at 170. I took my first step to holding my accountability by becoming an instructor at the gym.  I have taught Turbo Kick for 2 years now and I sub for PUMP and Interval classes!  Needing to stay fit enough to teach a roomful of people definitely motivates you to stay on top of your game :)
I held 170-175 for 2 years when I realized that I would like to lean up a bit more. My mother thinks I am too skinny, but that is because she has never known me under 180. I have never had a flat belly, I know I can get a flat belly if I just apply myself a little bit more, so why not? I missed out on being a fit teenager so why not be a super fit 36 year old :)
So in January I reapplied myself and branched out again by learning more about Beachbody. I started drinking Shakeology on a daily basis which increased my energy, helped reduce my cravings and made me feel better.  I bought Insanity, a high intensity cardio based at home program.  Between the two I was able to bring my body fat down 2% and take off another 8 pounds. I also signed up to be a Beachbody coach.  It was time to increase my accountability and to work towards my passion of helping others reach the goals I have reached...and am still reaching!  I can race my son down the street and sometimes win, I enjoy playing sports with my kids, I challenge my kids to race through the obstacle course at Pump it Up, I have more energy, I feel good... why not join me?  I wish I had learned of these products years ago as when kids are sick, when the gym is closed, when I am traveling, I can pop in a DVD and get my workout wherever I am!
Sign up on the Beachbody site and learn about the products, see what is available on the site and ask me questions.  It is FREE!!!  You can even log in your workouts, they can be any format and do not have to be a Beachbody product, and you can win up to $1000.  My coach won $1000 2 months ago!  You can learn more about Shakeology and try it for a month with a money back guarantee!  They have free shipping and a workout DVD offer if you sign up for the monthly plan!
Do you know what else I am looking for?  Some partners!  I need people to help me help others get fit!  If you sign up as a coach you get 25% off your products, you earn 25% for any sales you make AND you can help people and yourself get fit!  You don't need to be fit already to be a coach, you can make it a start to your journey...keep yourself accountable!  These are products that work!  Look at me, look at people on the site!  Let's help get America fit...and Canada too :)

Ready, Get Set, GOOOOOOOOO!!!!

It is time for the 60 days until Summer Challenge!
I started my fitness journey over 3 years ago and for the last 2 years have been fit, comfortable and enjoying life! I am ready to take it up a notch! I DID take it up a notch a couple of months ago, and I DID increase my fitness and lose a couple of pounds, but then when I needed a rest I failed miserable in my self control of food! For the average person I was probably still doing pretty well. I eat lots of veggies because I love them, I eat fairly low fat as I just don't like fatty food, but I added chocolate back in as a food group...and I ranked it pretty much as a core food that had to be eaten multiple times a day...and I enjoyed ice cream....out of the carton a few times!!! If I had really enjoyed that ice cream and couldn't go on without it I might not take too much issue with it, but I didn't really enjoy it during and especially not after! Oh, and then there were the girl guide cookies!!! But now I am feeling refreshed and refocused! I will indulge on occasion, but I just have to work on my self control not to OVER indulge!!!! It will be there tomorrow, next week, or maybe next year (in the case of the GG cookies). Portion control and over indulgence control...I don't think I am wrong in thinking this is the root of 75% of American's weight problems!!!

So, this challenge I am doing! I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but I would love to see my abs that have been hiding for my WHOLE LIFE!!! I do have abs of steel, they just have a little roll on top :) Time to say bye bye roll!
Current body fat is 22.1%, lets see where I can get it in a month!
There are requirements of 45 min + of working out 6 days a week, food journaling, healthy eating, lots of water...reaching big goals and changing your fitness takes hard work people!!! No one ever said this was going to be easy!
If you would like to join me in Tina's challenge, today is the deadline but contact me ASAP and we can get you signed up. If you would like to alter your challenge a little bit and have some accountability, encouragement but still a few important rules, let me know too and we can get something nailed down for you! My pics and stats are up on the Team Revolution Beachbody message board, Click HERE to check it all out! If you haven't joined the Beachbody site, you can do it for free  www.beachbodycoach.com/nicolabx
with me as your coach.  I can get your Body Fat Measured to start you out as well!  Let's get ready to hit the beach, the pool, the whatever....summer is a coming :)
